Season 7 | Episode 13 – “This Woman’s Work”

When complications from her supernatural pregnancy leave Caroline’s life hanging in the balance, Stefan and Valerie take extreme measures to try and save her and the babies. Meanwhile, after uncovering a dark secret about Damon, Enzo uses the information to force Damon into helping him track down Rayna Cruz, a ruthless vampire hunter who is on the loose. However, when Damon’s actions inadvertently put everyone he loves in Rayna’s path, he is forced to make things right before it’s too late. Bonnie and Alaric also appear.

Refusing to give up on his brother, Stefan attempts to reason with Damon only to uncover the devastating reason for his descent. Elsewhere, Caroline begins having some dangerous side effects as a result of her supernatural pregnancy and is forced to turn to Valerie for help. Meanwhile, Bonnie, Nora and Mary Louise attempt to track down a ruthless vampire hunter named Rayna after they suspect that she has reemerged. Matt and Enzo also appear.

One Night in Hipster Heaven

Deep in the heart of Miami, snuggled between graffiti art and warehouses, is Soho Film Studio. From the outside, it looks like a massive firehouse. Last Thursday night, however, it was the setting for the Absolut X party. Fancy hipsters on bicycles and scooters formed a line that curved all the way around the red building. I felt like I was in an episode of “Portlandia.”

The theme of the event was “Masquerade Ball,” which looked like an artsy, industrial rave deep in the land of Narnia. There were strobe lights, strange costumes, blaring music, photo ops, and an open bar. This was a recipe for an amazing night or the remnants of a discarded Ke$ha song.

Russell brings his Brand of comedy to South Florida

Russell Brand stole the show in the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and subsequently starred in his own spinoff, “Get Him to the Greek.” He was a video journalist for MTV in 2000, performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip in 2007, and recorded a stand-up special on Comedy Central in 2009.

He was recently kicked out of the GQ Awards for pointing out that Hugo Boss designed the Nazi uniforms during his acceptance speech for the Oracle award. This was after London Mayor Boris Johnson joked about the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
